I was born in Downtown, L.A. and grew up in Echo Park. I was always into comic books, video games and anything having to do with using my imagination. I started writing rhymes at age 13 to vent my anger after being jumped repeatedly, almost everyday at school. I began ditching class to hang out with large groups of friends, which was when I would break out in freestyles and spit my writtens. Everyone I spit to gave me great feedback, so I started taking it seriously and started really studying different styles. I listened to artists like 2Pac, Big Pun, Big L, Cypress Hill, Nas, Ras Kass, Eminem %26 KRS-ONE, which all had a huge influence on me, in 1 way or another. Over the years, I became more involved, dedicated %26 skilled with Hip Hop, absorbing all the knowledge I read or heard about it; including the extensive history. Juggling between school, the street life %26 my music, I chose to drop out because I was way behind on credits and was having trouble everyday with either teachers or peers. However, before dropping out, I did participate in an in-school battle during lunch where I performed in front of practically everyone I knew in school. From then on, I gained the reputation for being a rapper because not only was it televised on a local channel/station, but everyone found out I had talent, other than drawing my teachers as crude caricatures. I hung out with several types of people, from punks, skaters and gangsters to other fellow MC's and hustlers, which all seemed to give me positive feedback as well. At random times, some of my friends, who were also into music, would find me little backyard and/or basement studios to practice recording in. Around that same time, I also battled in a small Hip Hop club to gain more experience. After that period of time, I decided to attend adult school in Hollywood to get my diploma/G.E.D., mainly so I wouldn't be just another minority who became a statistic. During this time, I started getting my head together and making plans to pursue my dreams. The 1 thing I'll never forget from that phase of my life is meeting Zach De La Rocha from Rage Against The Machine, and having him tell me to keep doing my thing. From there on, I felt like I had what it took to make it on my own steam and under my own circumstances, so I continued writing and even started learning how to make beats. Which brings me to the present: I am currently working with some underground producers and artists just to generate a buzz in my local area. I have about 80 notebooks filled with my lyrics, I've recorded with various artists and producers, I've performed in front of large groups of people and I'm still constantly evolving, style-wise, philosophically, and as a person. I believe that all I need is the right opportunity for me to share my ideas, concepts %26 thoughts with anyone willing to listen that can relate. My style is a mixture of realistic, hardcore, West Coast street shit and overall social consciousness with an intelligently-worded lyrical twist. West Coast Rap is usually affiliated with "gangsta rap", but I aim to not only change that stereotype, but raise the bar as far as I possibly can. West Up.
