Eric Morrow November | uEmcee.com Interview

uEmcee: Hey what’s up Emjone or would you prefer Eric Morrow,Eric Morrow | uEmcee.com man thanks for letting us get at you on such a short notice. The name Emjone, what the meaning behind the name. Part of your initials?

Eric Morrow: What's up uEmcee! I prefer Eric Morrow, Eric Morrow is just short for Eric
morrow jr. one. No problem about the short notice thing, this is my pleasure.

uEmcee: I like what you got going on, I think your sound represents what Hip Hop is all about. How long have you been rapping?

Eric Morrow: I've been rapping since I was 13, I’m 26 now, so about 13 years. As far as my sound, I’m a lot different than most rappers from my area. Most people want those crunk lil jon type beats, but (while I do dig lil jon) I go for whatever makes me and the listeners head bob. That’s why I touch down on different styles of beats, not just a single genre, say-dirty south. I love hip hop and it's not limited to a genre.

uEmcee: You uploaded a song Titled “Mamacita” very catchy, I think the beat is addictive, what was the inspiration behind the making of this song? Eric Morrow: Where I live, I don't know about other areas, methamphetamines are taking over. I’ve seen woman after woman fall terribly addicted, it's an epidemic!
Mamacita is based around those types of women, not all women, just those unfortunate enough to let controlled substances control them. I’ve seen
beauty queens get addicted and try selling anything, even children! so, if any women are reading, no, I don't hate women, I’m just touching down on a sad truth.

uEmcee: On your site you mentioned you have done some collaboration with other emcees. Can you tell us more about that, which emcees and what songs?

Eric Morrow: Mostly just local cats. I recently done a song with Chevy from crunk chevy Ent. some boys out of florida, I'm sure you'll eventually hear of them. the
producer, phresh, of the mamacita beat collabs wit me a lot, he makes the beats, I rap. He's hot (phresh) and he's well on his way to being a top producer, we make classics together.

uEmcee: And when you say “it’s just me” do you put your beats together also? If so what hardware/software do you prefer to use?

Eric Morrow: When I say, it's just me, I mean that I'm the man with the equipment. I AM STRICTLY A RAPPER! I make drum patterns now, but I don't make beats because I i think it wears you out in a sense. I started making my own beats because it was either that or don't rap, because niggas aren't handing out beats. now, I've been on the web for a while, I’ve met different producers that will let me advertise my lyrics on their beats, while at the same time they're advertising their beats with my lyrics. so no, I don't make my own beats, I let the producers do that. there's phresh, shadowville pro, 2toxic, apex pro, bobby ruckuss, da beatzmith, hitman pro, hi-fly, and tons of others who will let you use their beats, just as long as you don't sell them and I 've been on a major promotion trip lately, so it fits me. I use their beats, give them credit for it and give it away.

uEmcee: It seems that all of a sudden Mixtapes and the sales of Mixtape are so dam popular now, have you thought about selling any, if not is it something that may be in your future, and if so where can we pick the CD up at?

Eric Morrow: I 'll get on a mixtape, but I 'm really out for exposure, so nothing and I mean nothing I do is for sale. if someone wants any of my music, e mail me with an address and I'll periodically send a CD wit 10 - 12 bangers on it...free! the way I look at it is, everyone won't buy your work(and it is very hard work), but everyone will listen to you if it's free, garbage or diamonds! so the best way to go, I think, is with demos, not mixtapes.

uEmcee: Random question, name the last 2 CDs that you bought, be honest, if you’re a big The Oak Ridge Boys fan we want to know…

Eric Morrow: The last couple of CD's I bought was T.I., and get this, the great Bob Marley. yeah, I love me some bob.

uEmcee: What does your calendar look like for the upcoming month? What's next inline for Eric Morrow?

Eric Morrow: I 'm a big homebody, very family oriented. I have two boys and a girl and they take up most of my time. All I do is look for opportunities to showcase my talent. if someone wants a show, rap for commercial, mixtape, websites, whatever, I can't wait. hit me up at samanthaknight@cebridge.net because I 'm never too busy.

uEmcee: How can people get in touch with you as far as
booking info, show dates, album releases or fan clubs, email, web addresses, you know?
